Today, November 17th, I saw the above interview on the Today Show about raising our children right. I think they have it out of order because Christ/church/Christian teachings should be number one but all of these are good guidelines for parenting.

A summary:
  1. Take our children to church and teach them about Jesus Christ.
  2. Eat at least five meals together as a family or if this is not possible have a family snack time together at some other time.
  3. Check homework each day. This shows you believe what they are doing is important.
  4. Take a family vacation without electronics (computers, blackberry, etc) and enjoy each other.
  5. Demand the truth from your child and get the truth.
  6. Play a group sport with good adults in charge or be in a group such as the band where all are required to work together.
