DISCOVERY NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents:

Since completing our “Footprints on the Moon” unit we have been doing two in class units.
During November we studied the “Footprints of our Veterans” and in December we studied symbols of Christmas and Christian customs in other countries.

Because this time of year is so busy, we have limited our projects to in class projects. The second grade researched the different memorials and monuments honoring our US veterans and make posters to show what they have learned. They made pages for a scrapbook about the meanings of the symbols of Christmas. It is wonderful to see how much they know about using the computer correctly and researching what they are asked to do.

The third through six grade classes also spent time researching on the computer and in the library. They have prepared and presented wonderful power point presentations to the class about Christmas in other lands with an emphasis on Christian celebrations and customs.

In addition, we made a board outside the DISCOVERY classroom to honor the veterans who are relatives of our TSA students. The students were excited to learn about their own family members who have served our country in the military.

As we look to the new year, our footprints will take us to the study of THE OLYMPICS including good health that helps to prepared these athletics. During this study there will be an outside project with complete instructions coming at the proper time.

It is such a privilege to teach each one of my students. Each one of them has a special gift and/talent that contributes to our learning.
