DISCOVERY NEWSLETTER

There are lots of things planned for DISCOVERY for the month of April. We are beginning a new unit which is FOOTPRINTS of NATURE/FORCES of NATURE/Natural Disasters. As part of this unit, the second, third and fourth grade will take a field trip to the Fernbank History Center on April 29th. We will see an IMAX movie, tour the exhibits Natural Disasters and Footprints though Georgia as well as have a picnic lunch.

April 15th is an important day in DISCOVERY. Our fifth grade students will take a field trip to THE CAPITOL of Georgia at the invitation of Representative Bubba Epps who is the grandfather of one of our students. Three sixth grade students will read their essays about our visit to the Bibb County Courthouse to the Macon Exchange Club. Each will receive a monetary prize. This essay was written after the sixth grade toured the Bibb County Courthouse at the invitation of Mr. Thomas Tedders and the Macon Exchange Club.

Sixth grade students will be studying "A Look to the Future" as we look at careers that could be of interest. We will also look ahead at what is involved in middle and upper school.

We are looking forward to packed, fun weeks full of learning experiences.
