Let the Olympics Begin

Opening ceremonies begin for the Winter Olympics on Friday night, February 12th. Listed below are three great websites that give information and time schedules for the events.

Each student should watch at least three events and keep a log of the winners of the gold, silver and bronze winners and the countries they represent. Also, please send in articles to class from newspapers and magazines about the Winter Olympics. This is a time that nations of the world come together, hopefully in peace, to showcase some of the very best athletics in the world. We have studied about good health and physical training that is required for participation. We will study the history of the Oympics, the problems encountered by a host country, and the importance of the Olympics. In addition, as your family watches some of these events, I hope it will be a fun time.
