Trojan Legion will meet on Tuesday night. Stop by the DISCOVERY room between 5:45-6:00 to see our Military Projects and to pick up your child’s project evaluation. We have completed an interesting and informative study of our US military. Thanks to the students for their wonderful projects and presentations. Thanks to our visitors( Clay’s dad, Brianna’s dad and William’s grandfather) who have served in the military and shared their experiences with us. We are proud to be Amerians!
Second grade students have their DISCOVERY presentation (interview) due on Thursday, October 21st. Each student in the second grade received a form on October 8th to use when they interview someone who is in the US military or has been in the US military. Each student will present their interview and turn these papers in with a picture on October 21st. Extra forms are available in the mailbox outside the DISCOVERY room if needed.
During the week of October 25th – October 29th we will begin our new unit of study entitled MASKS. Each student is asked to bring in some form of a MASK other than a Halloween mask during their assigned class period of this week. The student may bring in an actual mask or they may bring in a picture of a mask. Masks are used for work, play, ceremonies, part of history, etc. With the mask, the student should bring in a short paragraph explaining what the mask is/was used for.
We will be making masks in class in November. If you would like to come to class on that day and be an extra pair of hands, please let me know. Supplies will be provided.
Be sure to check our DISCOVERY blog from time to time for pictures or information about class activities.
Thank you for the privilege of teaching your child! It is a blessing!
