Masks are often thought of at Halloween but masks tell many more stories and serve many more purposes than to cover faces as part of a costume. These pictures tell stories of what we are learning in DISCOVERY about masks. They can be for protection, fun, ceremonies, celebrations, hiding our emotions, etc. The DISCOVERY assignment for this week is to bring in a mask or a picture of a mask with a paragraph explaining the significance of that mask. Next week we will be in the computer lab researching masks of historical and cultural origins.
